In mid February we hosted Elder Neil L. Andersen and his lovely wife Kathy. He traveled with: Elder Carl B. Cook and Lynette, Elder Stanley G, Ellis and KK, Elder Khumbalani Mdletshe and Cynthia. Elder Andersen met with our Lusaka Zone elders and sisters for an hour and members of the Lusaka Stake for a members devotional for 2 hours. The Priesthood Leadership meeting held Saturday morning was the main purpose of the visit and it was absolutely thrilling for Leif and myself to see all the priesthood brethren that we love from all over the mission be together in one chapel with an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We served lunch at our mission home after the PLC and before they departed for the airport to fly to Mozambique. What an honor to spend time with and learn from these two!

I snuck this picture in to show how completely happy I was about this great event....but also because I think it shows how much was on my mind. It is no small event to plan and execute the visit of an apostle, plus transportation, housing and food for all the out of town priesthood brethren, plus hosting lunch at the mission home and a lot of extra details that Leif handled so well!!! We had a great team of helpers....thanks to our senior couples and Chris Chansa (FM).

This was a week of welcoming 4 new missionaries and saying farewell to 2 sisters and 3 elders that have taken with them a piece of our hearts! We hope to remember always the meaningful associations we had with these 5.

Elder Lewis from Washington

Sister Newey from Utah

Elder Gova from Zimbabwe

Elder Ernst from Utah

Goodbye to our beautigul Fijian! Home for her is the island of Kiribati....pronounced Kiribis.
When Elder Neil L. Anderson learned where she was from he asked her to address a full chapel of Lusaka members and tell them about her people and islands and what it means to them to have a temple being rededicated that same weekend that Elder Anderson was with us in Zambia.
