Lilayi: elephant rehabilitation orphanage. When ready these elephants will be taken back to Kafue National Park and introduced into the herd.

 This was our outing Saturday to get out of the office and go for a ride. This facility is just 20 minutes south of Lusaka.


 The goal of the facility is to minimize human contact and return them to the wild. Without the high fat milk given to them here, in place of their mother's milk, they would die.
                              This little guy is 9 months old and weighs about 200 kgs (450 lbs)

 These two toddlers played with each other non stop. It was very entertaining to watch. We were on a viewing platform above the area where they were being fed.
